marriage licenses in 1869 Montreal?

My elusive brick wall gg grandmother had a marriage license, according to the parish register which is attached to the bride's profile here. According to the register entry, which she signed herself, her name was Theresa Adelaide Marsh.

They married in Quebec but are not French Canadian as far as i can tell.  The groom is fresh off the boat from Scotland.

Should i be able to find the marriage license somewhere?  Is it likely to have additional information?

It just seems that they are well into the era of lots of documentation, so i keep butting my head against this brick wall.

Grateful for any assistance or suggestions

oops, just went looking for data on who even issued such, this document, page 45 (FR) tells us that the legislation about marriage licenses did not specify WHO would issue them.  The legislation only got straightened out on this point in 1871, too late for your girl.  So it's anybody's guess where such a license would be, if even retained.
