Shared Photo: Ohio Counties Map - Modern Boundaries

I think it would be useful to make a collection of public domain state maps available on WikiTree that include modern county boundaries.  Any user would be allowed to tag the photo that interests them in their profile(s) or free space(s).

For example, I often want to show family members that two counties (where our ancestors lived) are either adjacent or are far apart.  I think many users would find a collection of photos like this useful.

I'm happy to do the work, but where should I place them?  How should I tag/categorize them?  Should I put them in a single U.S. Free Space, or create Free Spaces for each state that include that state's counties map?  Other ideas?

Or, does something like this already exist (that I didn't find)?

Tag the United States project, they might have a recommendation

Since no project leadership people have weighed in yet, I'll give my two cents :) I do think it would be helpful to have both the state-wide county maps like this one and county level maps, like this one I recently added for the Defiance County page for the Ohio project.

If you're only doing one statewide map for each state (or want to start with that), I'd say put them on a US FSP and the US project could link to that and each state map might end up included on the state's project page or linked in the state's list of resources.

If you're eventually going to also do all the county level maps, I'd do a FSP for each state and also included these state-wide ones there.

See also https://digital.newberry.org/ahcb/ This might be a definitive reference

That said, I have found some land ownership maps at the Library of Congress. You can see some examples here https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Northern_Cayuga_County_Maps_-_Where_Ancestors_Settled which I put together for one of the guest challenges (and my own ancestors).
