Adam Stump, born June 27, 1759, died June 23, 1835, buried in New Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery, York County, Pennsylvania

This Adam Stump is the ancestor of many Stumps across the United States.  My family's research and files has never been able to identify who his parents are.  Through my account on ancestry.com, I have seen many people place John Stump and Hannah Husband as the parents.  This, however, seems wrong, because in the 'History of Maryland' textbooks, It is said that they had 3 sons, none of whom were Adam.  No one who makes this claim has presented any proof either.

I have also seen people place Adam's parents as George Adam Stump and Maria Appolonia from Lebanon.  I cannot find any proof of this either.

Does anyone have any information or hints as to who Adam's parents are?  I would also be interested in knowing who the parents of his wife are, Catherine Deiss.

Thank you!

I'm afraid that John Stump and Hannah Husband cannot be the parents of Adam Stump (b. 1759).  Thought many on ancestry.com link them so, there is no proof provided and according the Genealogical and Memorial Encyclopedia of the State of Maryland, John Stump and Hannah Husband had 3 sons, John, Herman, and William.
