how to delete a picture on my profile

I need to delete a profile picture that put on by mistake. How do  I delete it?

Select the picture to see the details, and in the edit section under People, Places & Things in the Photo, select the remove from photo option next to the profile in question.

When I click on the picture that I want to delete, there is no "edit section" and no "People, Places & Things in the Photo" that appears to be able to remove it. I am totally confused. I think I have followed the directions, but have not been successful.
