Register now for the 2022 Source-a-Thon! [closed]

Question

Many of us have been anxiously waiting for the big annual event, the Source-a-Thon. This is our seventh, and it is as popular as ever! Last year we added almost 57,000 sources to profiles! Let's rock it again and beat that total.

The event starts on Friday, September 30 at 8AM EDT (Noon UTC) and runs until Monday, October 3 at 8AM EDT (Noon UTC) [time zone calculator]. There will be $4,000+ in door prizes donated from around the genealogy community, live video hangouts every four hours, around-the-clock chatting, and lots of fun.

Will you join us? To register, just click the ANSWER button (comments at the top will be hidden once read) and say "Sign me up!" and include your team choice or a few words about your location and/or genealogical interests so we can assign a team. Registration ends at midnight EDT on Wednesday, September 28th.

Hi Mindy,

This is my 1st time & this is all new.
2Qs 1: I have a Discord acct. I use in the England Project. Can I use it for this program?
2. Are the unsourced files for my Team sent to me?

I'm not getting the option to use the tracker for regular monthly sourcing.  I hoped I could do this, so I'm not sure what to do now, tracker-wise. Help?

Hal, if you have a discord account, and have been assigned to a 'Thon Team, that Team should appear in your available discord channels.  
Check with your Team regards where to find unsourced profiles for the area covered.  Otherwise, you can probably work on unsourced from other areas as well.  (All teams allow for this, even if their main focus is a specific region.)

AmyLynn, my understanding is that the tracker is turned off for everything except the Source-a-Thon, and will be returned to normal after the 'Thon ends on Monday.

AmyLynn: During the Thon the Challenge Tracker for the thon is the only tracking available.

Hi Hal. WikiTree uses a different server than the England project. You are definitely welcome to join! 

You can work any Unsourced list. Your team has different lists posted, by County.

Welcome to the Mid-Atlantic team! I think you will find the Source-a-Thon fun and rewarding. Some people think the Mid-Atlantic region includes both Virginia and West Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. Either way there is no restriction on where you choose to source.
