I have my mother's ancestry test and she is still living but we are both older and not in good health.  I would like to store this information here for safekeeping and future reference but I don't want it to be a problem.  Just a help for the future generations,

Hi Jackie,

Wikitree doesn't store the actual dna results, but if you create a gedmatch account at that site, you can put the kit number here and others can match their tests against it from other sites. You can also list the Ancestry test number so that people can go match on Ancestry if they took a test there, but your mother has to enter that herself for privacy reasons.

Here are some of the benefits of having one’s GEDmatch ID in WikiTree: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1054650/how-does-help-you-register-gedmatch-your-gedmatch-wikitree

In addition to what Jonathan said, since you are on Ancestry you can assign someone else to manage your (or your Mom's) kit.  Just click on the settings gear in the upper right while on the DNA page. Then scroll all the way down near the bottom, and select "Sharing Preferences". From there you can select others to manage your or your Mother's Ancestry Kit.

If you do upload your DNA info to GEDMatch, be sure to add the GEDMatch kit number to your Wikitree profile so others can find it in the future.
