Showing paternal grandparents when I can't establish my father's identity

I'm adopted in the 1960s. I know my birth mother, through paperwork. I have now identified my father through DNA to be one of three brothers, all deceased. Until further DNA information comes to hand, it will be unlikely I will ever identify which brother. However, I can confirm other generations, including my paternal grandparents. Is there any way I can show the linkage in my section of Wikitree, for example, with a placeholder for bf, but showing the linkage to older generations?

Brian,

I would see no problem in creating a profile for Unknown with proper last name son of - your known grandparents - then provide all of the detail in the bio - noting that he is one of the three brothers.

You could use Unknown first name, LNAB (father's Last Name At Birth)  as a place holder until you get further information.

Here is some more information on adoptions

Adoption Template for anyone adopted.

Thanks Kevin.
I have the adoption side sorted, with both a profile in my birth name (to link to my DNA) and my real name. Both have the template on them to show the linkage. This is within Wikitree policy.

It was just the 'unknown' profile issue, that I wasn't sure of. I just know creating 'unknown' profiles can cause an impact on the people who work to make sure of the integrity of information on Wikipedia, like the Data Doctors.
I think you should create all three brothers and link to one. The connection to ancestors would be the same. Just make sure you explain in the bio that the other two brothers could be the correct one.
