James Houston has several DOB. They all have lived in Greene County, TN. Some have him as the son John Hughston and Agnes Thomson, while others say he is the son of John McClung Houston and Margaret Mary Cunningham, but the story goes that James did not come to America but died of consumption. Some say he did come to America. The James that is the son of Agnes Thomson was born in 1737, and Agnes Wilson was born in 1728. That would make James 12 when he got married in 1749. He would also be 9 years younger than his bride. I will keep looking for either a ship's passenger list or a grave of James Houston in the UK. Just trying to find the truth.
