This man Herman was son of Pieter, a deep New Netherland ancetor. It should be a simple decision I think in line with the Dutch Roots Naming Convention standards to change his LNAB to Pieters, with Current Last Name as van Deventer.
The current match has a PPP as Van Deventer, which is the wrong capitalization for a man born in the Netherlands. He should not be merged yet in any case, because his father matches need to be fully resolved and merged first.
I believe Pieters would be the more correct spelling, rather than Peters. Or, do we have clearly defined proper sources with a preferred spelling?
