I remember my parents and grandparents telling me about this.  They said the streetlights came on in the middle of the day it was so dark.  Anyone remember this or have heard of it from family?

Edited: While never proven, there is some thought that the fire was caused by a Japanese Fu-Go balloon bomb leftover from WW II.

In Ontario we had some spectacular sunsets recently, due to smoke from fires in Alberta and British Columbia .

Chinchaga fire.....having lived in Fort St. John during '53/'54, while I attended Grade 3, I had to look it up.....never heard of it 'til now.
