Looking for information on the birthplace and parents of Barnet(t) Crabtree b. 1760s.

Many places list his birth as 1762, 1764, or 1766 in Yorkshire, England and some list James or John Crabtree as a father, and, rarely, Ann as a mother. I can't find any documents to back this up. There are documents that put him in Greene Co., TN, Washington Co., TN, and Randolph Co., North Carolina. The Crabtrees in Randolph County seem to have had dealings with various Barnetts, but I cannot find Barnett Crabtree as a child anywhere. Does anybody know anything about Barnett?

I'm sorry I wasn't clear that I don't necessarily believe that Barnett is from England, and I want to focus more on finding where he was actually from. I just found a note in an entry on RootsWeb that says Barnett and his half-brother John Crabtree came from England in 1790 as part of the Watauga Settlement. However, I have seen a document that lists him in the regiment of horsemen for Capt. John Hinds of Randolph Co., North Carolina from 1780 to 1789, but no real documents connecting him to John Crabtree or the Watauga Settlement. Should I remove the tags for England and Yorkshire?
Oh, sorry. You should be able to edit the tags yourself. Just thought I could help. The tags you follow will show up on your Nav Home Page so adding tags to questions increases the chanse of people who have the same interest as you to see your post.
Thank you!
Thank you. Those links are both for his son, born in 1803.

John Crabtree had a son Isaiah Crabtree that had a daughter who married my 3rd great grandfather George Terry in Christian County, Kentucky some of the Crabtrees are buried in the Crabtree Cemetery on the Hopkins/Christian county line in Western Kentucky.    Isaiah Crabtree was born 1782 in England and died 1859 in Christian County, Kentucky.     If any of this interest you feel free to contact me.   Some of the Crabtrees sold their land to my ggggrandfather and moved to Missouri.
