How do I reconnect with the tree that I had in here several years ago without creating duplicates?

If doing some searches as Shonda suggested doesn’t turn up anything it might be dependent on how you left WikiTree, ie, if and how you closed your account. See this link https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Closing_an_Account

If you scroll to almost the bottom of that page there is an email address for WikiTree (“info …”) contact them and explain the situation.

Have you done any searches for the family you are looking for? I find the profile maker doesn't always find a match, when there really is one, so I now do a search before I create a profile.

If you write to info @ wikitree.com (without the spaces) they should be able to merge your new account with your old one and that should connect you with your previously entered family members.
