Chris,
I was not sure how you wanted to handle new requests. I figured if he emailed me I could sign him up. Guess its a good thing I did not, sounds like someone else already did. Was kind of slow here this weekend and just wanted to help.
I understand close family members and other genealogists wanting to connect (distant cousins). What If any response is appropriate for others?

No worries about sending a second invitation. If you enter a person whose e-mail address already exists in the system (i.e. someone else invited them) you'll get a status/error message telling you.
