Questions/Issues re: Henry Lamb (1697-1761), et al

Hi All,

I've recently invited two new members with the surname Lamb to join us here at WikiTree.  One immediately wanted to know about my record for Henry Lamb (1697-1761).  Unfortunately, all I have are user-submitted records at FamilySearch.org with little to nothing in the way of source citations.

There are three records besides mine for Henry on WikiTree and I'd like to get started merging these, but we have some differences that we need to reconcile.  I'm sending private messages/emails to all the interested folks I can find, but would be glad to hear from any WikiTreer who can help with this.

The records in question are Lamb-1105, Lamb-464, Lamb-859, Lamb-574.

Everyone seems to agree that Henry was born in Virginia in 1697 and died February 10, 1761 in Rowan County, North Carolina.  But was he born in Nansemond County, or Isle of Wight County, or New Kent County?

His wife is variously shown as Elizabeth Henby/Henley/Henly/Newby/UNKNOWN.  Her first name is shown as Elizabeth OR Gulielma OR Gulielma Elizabeth.  Also saw one record suggesting Henry had two wives; Elizabeth AND Gulielma.

Her father is shown as John Henby/Hanbey/Hanley.  The only official record I've found for him is his marriage and that shows him as Hanley.

I've seen one record that cites "Hinshaw's Quaker Records" (i.e., "Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy") as the source for her name, but haven't seen the source myself.

Do any of you folks who have Henry Lamb, et al in your ancestry have access to any solid sources?

Attempting to get accurate information about Henry and family, I have discovered there is a book, published in 2000, titled "Descendants of Henry and Elizabeth Lamb of North Carolina: A Quaker family legacy, 1697-2000" (one volume in a series called My North Carolina Heritage).  I have managed to locate an email for the author and have received a reply from him saying he received my email and will get back to me.  Hopefully, we'll have some definitive facts about Henry, et al, soon.

I have found that same book, there are only 3 librarys that have it and i'm in the process of seeing about borrowing a copy. I have found another library here in Indiana, Richmond to be in fact, that has book by the same author, and name, I will have more information after November 11, 2013, The book is at Earlham College in the Friend Collection, it cannot be checked out has to stay in the library
Since I wrote that, I have been fortunate enough to obtain a copy.  It has been quite helpful.  The author is a very thorough researcher.
