Thomas Parker 1840-1914, father of Charles, 1876-1966, Illinois

Question

Does anyone else descend from these men? They are my great and great-great grandfathers.

My grandfather made me remember that Thomas was brought to America by his mother. She was rejected by the Parker family in England because they did not approve of her. She was paid to keep Thomas' father's identity a secret.

Has anyone else had a story like this passed down to them?
