Toronto police have just made an arrest in two 1983 murder cases based on information from GEDmatch.

I think this is one of the best things to come out of genealogy DNA tests. So many grieving families will finally get some answers.

I get so angry sometimes when I hear about those that are against police using DNA testing to help solve crimes. Most of these are privacy advocates that really don't understand just how important this is to families who have lost someone and the case has gone cold.
I agree Ken! People are given the choice to give law enforcement access or not. If you don't want your DNA used to solve crimes, then uncheck the box. Simple as that.

Yes that was great news.

I also noticed that the two children (Babes in the Woods) found dead in Stanley Park, Vancouver found in 1953, solved in 2021.  Babes in the Woods

Both cases solved using recent DNA results.
