Surname Mnu Advice [closed]

Question

On. A couple of other genealogy sites I’ve encountered the surname Mnu for a cousin. In fact, on one it occurs quite frequently for a number of profiles mostly not my kin.since all the occurrences are female it occurred to me that it might be an abbreviation for “Maiden name unknown”

Can anyone confirm my suspicion or is there reality a family of females with the surname, “Mnu”? There are really Amazons, maybe? :-)
