Ooooo!  Dark Corner is another name for that mountain and area.  I know the area very well as I spent many an eve during my teenage years tackling the climb over it in various and asundry jeeps, driven mostly by friends, but sometimes by me.

Then with the DOT as that scrabbly old road, fit only for 4x4's, was an actual state road!

It was an interesting place up there - those folk did not like outsiders.  I worked with one of the Goods for a while.  He installed indoor plumbing for his mothers place in 1986 (from a well of course)!  No phones up there until the entire mountain was bought by a developer.

There was another church up on the mountain.  Don't remember the name, but I do know that the Church and graveyard were not to be disturbed as a part of the agreement to develop.  I don't know if the developer followed through with that promise.  Mags

My 4th great grandfather , George Lindsey, was married to Agnes Ballew & they lived on Glassy Mtn. . He owned the land where the old remote cemetery is . His son, William , was a preacher at the old church on the road up the mountain, that is still standing.

Yep, " Dark Corner's ." I am a Lindsay descendant from there . My 4th great grandfather , George Lindsay married Agnes Ballew. The old dirt road going to the cemetery is now restricted . The cemetery is on land once owned by George Lindsay. It was called " Lindsey Cemetery " for years, but now is " Emery-Lindsey."
