Are you new/newish to WikiTree and finding that certain things keep tripping you up?  Bring your specific questions to our real time WikiTree gathering.  Betsy Ko and Eowyn Langholf will be hosting these sessions on Zoom.  This will allow us to screen share and speak directly as we work through things you have questions about.

In January, we'll hold two sessions:

The theme for January's sessions is "More WikiTree in '23".  We'll talk about the many ways you can get more involved in our community.  Of course, bring your questions on any other WikiTree topics.  Fruitful tangents are welcome and no question is too elementary!  These two sessions will be the same, so just attend the one most convenient for you.  They'll also be available on WikiTree's YouTube channel within a few days.

Hope to see you there and please spread the word to others who might be interested in attending.

Hello - I missed the two zoom meetings.  Will this be posted to YouTube?  I was searching but could not find it.
Hi Shannon--The videos from January 5 and 8 should be up on YouTube within a few days.

I plan on joining you this month to help. I may not make the first one as it is 1 am here but should be at the Sunday one.

That's terrific, Hilary.  Looking forward to it.

I plan to join on Saturday.  My interest is how to set up a reference page for my "Borton and Mason Family" published Geneaology as a source for all the family members listed in that publication.  I am also novice for how to format sources so they look proper in my family profiles.

Hi Sherry--We can certainly give you some ideas on ways to share your family research and knowledge with the rest of your family.  One important note though is that you mentioned Saturday.  The two sessions are on Thursday (8 pm EST/1 am UTC) and Sunday (11 am EST/4 pm UTC).  I hope one of those two times work for you!
Thanks for correcting the time/date.  I will try to join Thursday as the Sunday time overlaps church.

Thanks, I definitely need some tuition.  I would like to join on Thursday 5th January.  I have looked at the Zoom meeting link and it says it is at 1 a.m. but I have come across this before with Zoom, where it confuses ante meridian (morning) with post meridian (afternoon), so I'm guessing it really does mean 1 p.m. or rather 8 p.m. for us Brits.  Here's hoping.

Hi Judith--Thursday's session will be at 1 am England time; sorry about that!  But on Sunday we'll be gathering at 4 pm England time.  I hope the Sunday time works for you.  If not, feel free to write back if you have a specific question and we should be able to cover it.  Then you can catch up with it later on the YouTube replay.
If you are looking at England or Wales then I am joining the Sunday one and may be able to help with some pointers.
Hello Betsy, Yes thanks, I'll join the 4 pm British time Sunday session, all being well.  Judith

I plan on joining one of the sessions if I can get zoom to work for me this time. I'm adding my fathers siblings and it's slow going, which is frustrating since of been researching for over 20 years.

Hi Mary Lou--I remember the difficulties you had with Zoom last month.  Fingers crossed that technology cooperates in the new year!

Hi, I am really interested in this as I'm so slow learning and need as much information as possible. I am in Australia so not sure about the times to zoom in?
by Living Young G2G Crew (560 points)
It will depend on where in Australia you are.  Especially being that parts of Aus are now on silly time, and the US times Betsy gives are not.

Hi Gwenda--World Time Buddy is very helpful and hopefully you can easily convert either EST or UCT (Coordinated Universal Time) to your time zone.

I plan on joining tonight but haven't done zoom in awhile.  Is there a phone involved or is just setting up the camera and hitting the link enough?
by Robert Simpson G2G Rookie (260 points)
Hi Robert--I'm just now seeing this, so I hope you made to tonight's session.  For future, you do need to download the Zoom app to your computer.  After that step, it's just a matter of clicking on the link.  You can also join from your smart phone; again you need the Zoom app.
