Copied from Geni - Aunty Twins photos collection - I thought I would like to delete this photo as there is a better (tonal quality) version. However following these instructions ... 'To remove the photo from the profile, click on the photo. This will open the Photo Edit page. On the left side of the page, where it says "People, Places & Things in the Photo," select "REMOVE" next to the appropriate name(s), then click "Save Changes to Photo Info" at the bottom of the page. When you save the changes, the photo will not appear on any profiles.' However if you get a dark area either side of the photo with no text, it becomes impossible to find "REMOVE" How should I hold my mouth to make this happen?

Erk! There is no way to edit that image page. I've never seen that happen. It looks like you discovered a bug!
On further examination, I see that the connected profile has Green (Public) privacy. That's probably why I didn't see any way to edit the image. You are on the Trusted List for the profile, but you are not a profile manager. Maybe that has something to do with your inability to modify the photo (it shouldn't have that effect, but maybe it does).

Ellen [this comment of mine overlapped with your second comment]: does the image page not look that way to you and me because we are not on the Trusted List of any of the profiles using the photo? It may look different to Ray (who speaks of a "dark area" that does not appear for me). See

Ray: would you consider temporarily changing the privacy of Brown-45807 to Open? Then other people may see what you do on Brown-45807-2.jpg and be in a better position to help.

Edited to add: Since as Ellen points out Ray is only on the Trusted List, not Profile Manager, my suggestion of changing the privacy level won't work. Maybe indeed only the actual Profile Manager can remove the image.

The other photos I have posted have the same, black / blank surround, so perhaps I have to go to the Profile Manager to action the delete
Thanks for you thoughts / suggestions
Ray
