Need help fixing Brittain genealogy lines!

Question

On my mother's father's line it gets pretty messy once you get to my g--grand father Levi Brittain's line. People have merged them with wrong children, wrong areas entirely. Levi, was one of 6 children. His brother George Brittain is the founding father of Harlan County Ky. I believe there's a duplicate on George, but I don't want to even touch that mess, because there's children attached that are entirely wrong.

If the confusion you are talking about is on FamilySearch you need to talk to them. Wikitree is not the owner of FamilySearch and has no control over what is posted there.

Good data is the best tool for counteracting bad data. Your Wikitree profile for Levi Brittain doesn't have any sources yet. What records do you have for him? Have you found him in censuses or in vital records? Are there probate files or land records for him?

Would love to talk to you about the Brittain Famly of Harlan County. I cant tell you much about them past 1830. I have a huge interest in the earlier Brittain's. I would love to know more.

My line comes off of Levi->Archibald->Nathaniel's son James & Laura-> had my grandfather on mom's side James Ralph Brittian.  I've never really knew any of the Brittian side.
