Do you have ancestors who participated in the American Revolutionary War?  Do you have an interest in the historical aspects of this war?  If so, we are looking for new members to join.

Project recognition (and Wikitree member participation) is not limited to the soldiers and civilians who fought for American independence - this project recognizes service from all nationalities including British, French, Spanish, Native American, and others.

I have read that Smith-75374 is the father of one Samuel Smith, Gen of Fort McHenry during the war of 1812. I cannot find a profile for "Uncle Sam" nor is he listed as a child of Wm Smith-75374. The only source for Smith-75374 is, Signer of the Bush Declaration. This is (IMO) a poorly soured file protected by the Rev War Project with historical significance. As I am new to this, with limited computer skills, I do not feel I have anything to contribute by joining the 1776 Project. This is one of 3 or 4 profiles I am trying to connect to one another. Any thoughts? This is in reply to BNorman comment.

Hi Lisa, thank you for adding me to the project. I would appreciate your suggestions of which team would be the best fit for me.  My goals are learning more about how to apply for DAR membership, I like working on improving biographies, and the states I'm most interested in are Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, and North and South Carolina.

As far as how to apply to DAR you will need to go to the DAR website and go through the joining steps.  I found locating the local chapter closest to me was best they helped me through the steps of joining.  Go here and find your local chapter- https://www.dar.org/national-society/become-member/chapter-locations
