I have a lot of information about James Madison Deering and family.  I just want to find the cousin connection to Dolley Payne Todd Madison.  Were they first cousins or what?  What are the other names?  Thank you in advance if anyone knows.  I can't figure it out.

Frank Gill answered a similar question earlier.

For James Madison Deering and Dolley to be first cousins: they would need to share either maternal or fraternal grandparents.

Or the parents of James Madison Deering (John and Ruhama (Davis) Deering) would need to be common to the parents of Dolley's parents: which are well known to be John Payne and Mary Coles.

That's not true - so these two are not first cousins.

Good luck in the research, and it's nice to share the info you have on James Deering on wikitree for others to appreciate and collaborate.
