I am trying to upload a .gedcom and have a problem with matches.

Question

I have about 25 matches with people I've added previously.

I don't want to skip them as I have a lot of additional info in the .gedcom & I will merge them as soon as they're added.But I am going around in circles.

.  I keep telling Wikitree I am ready to upload but it just keeps taking me back to the same screen listing matches.  What do I do next??

You either have to confirm a match or reject it. Each propose match has to have one of the choices chosen.

I would not add anyone who is already in WikiTree because you are taking up space in the database that could be used for a new profie. Instead I woud make a note of the name and the other profile's number in order to add it to your family tree later. I know that seems like a lot of work, but if we want to keep WikiTree free, we need to conserve as much as we can.

I have confirmed the matches, told it to skip the matches, rejected the lookalikes that are not matches,  There is nothing else I can do -- unless I'm overlooking something.

Patricia, I see that Lianne and Tami have already replied. I also see that one of the five GEDCOMs you have uploaded (#6260) is pending sysop review, so you've approved it successfully.

Well, I was just too hasty and careless.  I thought I had marked all the matches as such, as well as checking the "skip"option, but when I looked this morning there some some that I had not marked and when I did so, it went thru like a breeze!  My apologies for my carelessness!  I'll try to do better in future!!

It won't allow you to go any further until you skip more of the matches. That's because GEDCOM uploads are not meant to be used to update existing profiles.

This may be an obvious answer, but after reviewing and skipping, you need to scroll down, "Save" and then click the "Approve: I understand the instructions and want to impoart into WikiTree" button.
