How do I locate a Children's Home in Columbia SC, during the 1910's-1920's?

Question

I know the home was run by Emily Dick (Sr.) and that it was on Senate Street.  I know it operated from 1912 to at least 1924 or so.  T. Hal Dick was the husband of Emily, Sr. and may have been involved with it as well. 

In looking at Census records for 1910 and 1920 the Dick family had boarders who were adult so I am assuming the children's home ran seperate from their residence.  I have no idea what it may have been called, but it may have been targeted towards the children who came from Mill workers homes.

Chicora College may have been close to the children's home as well.

Emily Dick (Jr.) went on to found Columbia International University. 

I have no idea where to start...help?

She left South Carolina for Georgia with her youngest child Reid, after placing Eddie in the Columbia Childrens Home, he is still there in 1920 enumerated as an "inmate" of the Rescue Orphanage.

I have some photographs of my Grandmother with some of the younger children at the "Home".  Don't know what it was called.  The woman who ran it was suposedly a member of my grandmothers family, but I can find no connection - that's what I am working on now, trying to connect Emily Ewell Dick, Sr. to the Welborns of Rabun County.

My grandmother would have been there from the age of Six until she finished college.  so 1912/13 to 1927.

There's nothing sadder to a Southerner than seeing a home go down or a school close up. I attended Chicora Elementary in North Charleston up to grade 11 then they closed it up for good.

Is it possible to contact University of Charleston and find out when the house was torn down and what the name of it was?

It would be the University of SC as Chicora College was in Columbia before it merged with Queens College in Charlotte in 1930.  Chicora Collage in Greenville as well prior to it moving to Columbia,.

Columbia International University could be the other school (have a call into them now) to look into as Emily Dicks, Jr. founded it.

The old house on Senate Street was beautiful for sure.

I found the address - 1622 Senate St., Columbia.  The city directory helped for sure, but the name is for the husband of Emily Dick who ran the "home".  Didn't have a name for the home.
