G2G: How sure is this pairing with Benjamin Dillard?

Ann Ward was 18 years older than this Benjamin Dillard.

This Benjamin Dillard would have been 15 years old at the time of the marriage.

It would not have been likely that Benjamin Dillard would have named a child, Lynch Dillard, for his wife's previous husband.

There are a lot of questions here.

Her first husband is said to have died about 1797 in Campbell, Virginia.

Anne died in Albemarle in 1816

Yet her marriage to Benjamin is said to be in 1782 in Bedford

The kids were all born in Bedford, Virginia before the death of the first husband.

Benjamin dies in 1850 in Tennessee

There is some conflation happening here but with who is not exactly clear. Confirmation of sources and more research is needed. Have you contacted the PM's of the profiles in question to get some feedback? I would start there. Also the first husband, Christopher, is an orphaned profile, no reason why you could not do some work on that profile and see where it goes.

This source shows the wedding of Christopher to Anne Ward. Anne's father's name is given as John.

The wedding took place in Bedford in 1765.

And here is a marriage registration for Benjamin Dillard and Anne Lynch in 1782 in Campbell, Virginia.

I think its possible that the Anne Ward that married Christopher is not the same Anne who married Benjamin. She has the last name of Lynch but that could be her maiden name. There is no death record for Christopher but is thought to have died in 1797. FamilySearch has some sources listed for Christopher here
