This attribution is very weak. How can someone be born in NC in 1755 if his parents never left Connecticut?? Since the putative father is actually named Nathaniel, not William, and Nathaniel and Hepzibah were parents of many children, none named William, I think Perquimans William should be disconnected from the Connecticut couple.

Since writing this, I have found this is an error that was probably introduced from unverified trees, that unfortunately have been repeated on many of the genealogy sites.   There is a probable sister named Keziah also born in NC attributed to the same Connecticut couple who never left CT.  I propose to create a father to be called Unknown Barber as father to these two NC Barbers, and disconnecting them from the CT couple.   I thought I should publish this here to make it clear, and to give others a chance to discuss.
