Improvements to Five-Star Profiiles - Need help with sticker

Need help with making a sticker to comply with PGM request:

I am the 9th great granddaughter of Joan (Fowle) Borden (1604-1688). I wanted to add one sentence to the top of her biography (and other Five-Star Profiles in my watchlist):

Joan (Fowle) Borden (1604-1688) is a Five-Star Profile

PGM request:

"Hi Pat,

I see that you added information to the top of Richard Bowen-767's profile today.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm, this is a PGM Project-Managed profile, and we have project editing guidance that the change you made does not comport with. I know you are also a profile manager, but the PGM's project Editing Guidelines still apply: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Puritan_Great_Migration_Editing_Guidance

As the PGM Project Co-Leader, I suggest you find another way to showcase this information, for example using a sticker, or adding a comment, or adding it elsewhere on profile. The Magna Carta project, for example, uses a sticker that is placed in a comment: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bigod-2. This is much more aesthetically pleasing.

Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Sharon"

Pat, a question or caveat. Doesn't the list of 5-star profiles change over time, as interest varies and different people in history get fewer or more views for their profiles? The definition of 5-star profiles is "These profiles have been viewed at least 1,000 times in total, and by at least 100 different people in the past year." In a subsequent year, the profile may no longer get 100 viewers.

If so, what is a 5-star profile now may not be one in the future. Mightn't recording this permanently in the biography eventually produce a misleading statement?

I'm not the one who wants the sticker. It's the project that wants the sticker that I can't find to use. Haven't a clue as to make a sticker. There are 68 profiles on my watchlist I'd like to use Help:Star Profiles as a guide to make the best biographies I can for these heavily visited profiles. After that there are family members who have more profiles ...

Once I go as far as I can on the biography then the

 == Research Notes ==

have lost their usefulness and can be removed.

Thanks Pat. As long as the mention of five stars in the biographies is removed within a reasonable time, my point about being misleading in the future does not apply.

But if this is a set of profiles you want to keep track of for your own use, wouldn't keeping a separate list, e.g. in a file on your computer or a WikiTree To-Do List, be sufficient, rather than mentioning it on the profiles at all?

How about using the Descendant sticker (you put this on your own profile).

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:Descendant

so, for instance, you could have

That wouldn't work for me. I have 68 five-star profiles and only one is a close relative.
Thanks for the info. It will eventually come in handy.

Until a sticker can be found I added recently deleted 5 star comment to bottom of research notes using regular font size. Once a sticker more to PGM"s liking can be located and replace it, For example,

Joan (Fowle) Borden (1604-1688) is a Help Star Profiles aka "five-star profiles" which are among the most popular profiles on WikiTree. Do your part to make these most looked at profiles better by following suggestions of you choice on Help Star Profiles.

To find 5star profiles on your watchlist Do a text search on WikiTree+ Text: 5stars followed by "your WTID"

I don't think there is such a thing as a 5-star sticker.

As well as (or instead of) you could use the Heritage sticker on your own profile:

Thank you for your interest in our PGM Profiles.

The PGM Project has discussed the use of stickers to show that a profile is one of WikiTree's 5 star profiles, and we have decided that we will not be using a 5 star sticker on any of our project-managed profiles (note: currently, there is no such WT sticker, in any case). Primarily, this is because the 5 stars just represent views on WikiTree as of a particular point in time, and it is not something that the project has time to administer. For the present time, our preference would be that the 5 star designation is only posted (if at all) to the profile via a Comment, where it will be clear that the information was current as of that specific date.

Thank you for your understanding.

Ideally "star" profiles (with any number of stars) would be indicated automatically by software, using appropriate icons or markers.

The software could ensure that the marker was kept up to date, adding it when the star conditions were met, and removing it when that ceased to be the case. This wouldn't have to be immediate: recalculation once a week might do. So it wouldn't be expensive to run, once it had been developed.

Somebody keen on identifying star profiles might like to make an "improvements" suggestion in a new post along these lines.
Good idea, Jim. It seems best to me as a system generated entry on a profile

another G2G discussion about star profiles (I forget which one) shared the wikitree+ coding for finding 5star profiles... "5stars" is a "magic word" & can be searched for in combination with any WikiTree ID. See for example

https://wikitree.sdms.si/default.htm?report=srch1&Query=5Stars+WikiTree-30&MaxProfiles=5000

For a list of magjc words & details on how to use them for wikitree+ searches, see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:WikiTree_Plus#Magic_words
