G2G: NEHGS Transcription Challenge #2 for 2023

It was really interesting and helpful to see how many ways everyone transcribed this difficult handwriting. After going through every response, the names we have settled on are:

#1 - Nighy

#2 - Carleman

#3 - Dwyre

I think Judy's post describes the outcomes of a previous challenge that is no longer visible on the NEHGS website (at least I didn't find it).

The link in her post goes to a page with a new set of images that include names that NEHGS couldn't decipher. We get to submit our guesses (what we think the mysterious names are), and they will publish an "answer."

I submitted answers to the new Challenge, where I thought two of the names were reasonably identifiable (albeit not 100% clear), but at least a couple of the others were impossible.

I was hoping to be able to see the images from the previous Challenge to see what participants had interpreted.
