Hi fellow genealogists and historians, but especially those new to WikiTree!
I wanted to share something I'm doing, with no intention to brag, but as a suggestion of what YOU can do for your family!
I created a Free Space page...(Thank all of you guru's at WikiTree for letting us do this!) ... to place all my discoveries and family stories in ONE PLACE so my family, my kids and the grandkids can easily find the stories and connections to famous people.
It is located here:
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Draper_Family_Stories_by_The_Draper_Family
I've collected (with the help of my WikiTree blood related cousins) 31 stories with pictures, charts on how our family connects to famous people, a section to honor those genealogists in our family that now belong to the ages, original songs, original poetry and discoveries I have made to famous people, that are my cousins and how we are related. (this is to give the grand kids "bragging rights!)
I hoping this will make genealogy fun! Maybe they will get involved when they see the value! Even if they don't, there are plenty of bedtime stories to share with the little ones and eye-openers for the adults!
What I failed to do was keep track of these stories and where they were located as I discovered them. I should have done this from the start. Hind sight is 20/20!
Start collecting your stories on a free space pag. Look at mine to give you an example of how you can then mold it they way you want!
Thanks for all you do!
