BUG in Citation Linking [closed]

I have been using the code style for creating a hyperlink using a text phrase for about 4 months now.  All of a sudden today it stops working and now the text and link both appear in the citation text and appear unconnected.

Please tell me this is a bug and not a feature.

BB, I just tried to look but see that Jim Richardson is currently working on it, so you have no worries.  I know he'll be posting here when he's done to tell you what the problem is and either how to fix it or that he fixed it for you.

I just couldn't resist commenting to say that geeks like me have been known to define the word "bug" as "an undocumented feature" so it looks to me like you're right to call it either one!
Thanks Gaile, and also for the star :-)
While I'm thinking about the jokes we had in the past, you just used another phrase that hit a button for me - I remember I once doctored my boss' computer (it was an XP) to put up an error message at random times that would go away as soon as you pressed any key.  The message said "User Error - Replace User and Try Again".  I guess that makes me a virus producer, but this was way before there was such a thing as computer viruses.

Hi BB. The problem is that you have line breaks inside the square brackets.

This will not work:

example].

Change it to

[https://example.com/ example].

BB I took the extra space out of a few of them and it shortened them correctly. It can be hard to see with those long links!

Thanks Jim and Mindy!  Since line break coding is invisible in this format, I guess I am bound to make these boo-boos.  I am so glad this was an easy fix.

You guys are great!
