If you go to

https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:Relationship&action=calculate&person1Name=Roberts-25513&person2Name=Roberts-7085

It says “ Explore more: 3 common ancestors…”  However their shared common ancestor Benjamin Edward Roberts is repeated twice.

interestingly, the second instance of Benjamin has the note Y-DNA after it.

First time i've seen that.

Could that have anything to do with why Ben is in there twice?

Thank you for pointing out the yDNA.  I also had not noticed it.

yDNA and mtDNA common ancestors are forced to appear in the list if they exists.

The duplicated ancestor can also be at different level with a different path. That usually isn't the case with 3 generations, but at 10-20 generations it is possible to have a shorter path to the common yDNA ancestor.

Thanks for your reply.  Is having yDNA or mtDNA forced to appear a result of getting “limit to paternal line” relationship and “limit to maternal line” to work?

No. It is added as a conviniance to see that there is a yDNA or mtDNA connection. That way you don't have to check for it with "Limit to ..."

Many thanks. It is a nice convenience.
