Today I was adding info and sources to [Whitecross-26], a profile that had been created by someone else by a gedcom import over 5 years ago, and I added a birthyear of 1720. However, he was already a child of [Whytcross-2], which had a birthyear of 1727, but who was probably born in 1688. So my edits caused the child to be born before the father, generating an error before I could save. So I made edits to the father, which generated a pre-1700 flag. In order not to lose my work, I entered the birthyear of "before 1701" for the father. Not the best solution. My sources do come from the Old Parish Registers (my notes predate Scotlands People, back when we ordered microfilms from Salt Lake to our local libraries, so I didn't actually use Scotlands People, although my sources are contained there). So I am seeking guidance on improving this profile.
