G2G: Can't find Birth Place?

Hi,

I am hoping someone can help me to find my Great Grandfather Nicholas John Leonard Seegers birthplace. His Dad worked as a Carpenter for Thesen and Company in Stavanger Norway. We know he was on the ship with his Dad when they immigrated to South Africa. His death certificate says he was born in Cape Province but that's incorrect. I have no idea if he's German, Dutch, English or from Belgium? Maybe he was born somewhere else?  I would be so grateful if someone could help me I keep hitting dead ends its like he never existed?  Thank you Sandy
