How can I get a copy of a deed and letter referenced (Thomas Wisdom) in Wisdom-45?

The entry below appears in the notes for Thomas Wisdom (Wisdom-45) and refers to a deed recorded in March 1799, Terms of the Court, in Person County, NC, signed by James Jay, 2nd husband of Martha (who was first married to Thomas Wisdom).  The deed is supposed to specifically mention John Wisdom as one of Martha's children.

There is also a note in the Research Notes:  Sharon Pace , Subject: [WISDOM-L] Letter from Benj. Wisdom Date: Thu, 28 Jan 1999 09:05:53 -0600 This letter was from Benjamin Wisdom The document is in the state archives in Raleigh.  The letter reportedly mentions the children of Martha Wisdom who later married James Jay.  I contact the NC State Archives and gave them the 09:05:53-0600 reference and the little information there and they responded that they don't know what that number is or where to find the letter.  Any help greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Many records from Person County for that time period are digitized at Family Search, so I would start there. The source on the profile is a message posted to a listserv more that 20 years ago, so may no longer be useful.
