Brunswick is not listed under "Category:Districts and Independent Cities of Lower Saxony". There are no "B" entries in the list.

Where can I find Brunswick/Braunschweig?

Hi!
This is a list of categories someone created under Lower Saxony. But the list is far from complete. There are much more Districts (Landkreise) and independent cities in the State of Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen). Of course Braunschweig [Brunswick] is an important city in this federal state and should be added as a category.

It is odd because I was able to create a category "Braunschweig, Niedersachsen" on the profile of Baumann-2839 (among others). Where is it listed?

I mean add the category, not create. Sorry.

That category has existed since 30 January 2023. At present it contains 17 person profiles and one subcategory. Here it is:

Category: Braunschweig, Niedersachsen

Thanks for the link, Jim.

I am still puzzled why it is not on "Category:Districts and Independent Cities of Lower Saxony" but apparently only on the Germany version. I have just tried the en/de "parallel categories hierarchies" button. The lists are in no way identical.

I don't see why a category "Districts and Independent Cities of Lower Saxony" exists with an English name at all. Is there a category of cities in Texas or Yorkshire with a German name?

I assume that is because English is WikiTree's lingua franca. Just as Germany has parallel hierarchies so do Denmark (da/en) and France (fr/en) to name but a few. Local researchers can use their local language and Americans, Australians etc. searching their roots can use English, even the Texans.

There I must answer a friendly "no". German location names should be written in German language.
