Hi

I'm trying to put a navy sticker with the following profile Frew-1692 but all I'm getting is a poppy with Lest We Forget on it.

I'm using the following can someone have a look at this and see what I am doing wrong?

{{Veteran Recognition|Badge Image=Military_Badges_and_Insignia-1.png|nationality=Australia|Branch=Navy|Start-year=1940|end-year=1975|text=From Petty Officer to Lieutenant Commander}}

Thanks

Hi Elayine, I can't see what the sticker looks like in edit mode, as it won't let me edit it yet as you have an unsaved draft. I'll need to wait another 29 minutes unless you discard or save the current draft.

Hi Margaret

I have saved it now as a finished (for now) profile. I'm not sure if this helps you or not.

I did notice that the poppy image has the name

Military_Badges_and_Insignia-1.jpg Armed forces Poppy

and the navy one seems to be the same

Military_Badges_and_Insignia-1.png Australian Navy

No, one is .jpg and one is .png, the problem was, you had Badge Image= instead of badge-image=

I also changed the branch to Royal Australian Navy and took out nationality, see if you think it reads better now.

Check out our page with Australian veteran sticker examples.

Thank you so much it is just what I was looking for.

You're welcome, I found just using the branch without nationality gives better results for Australia, as our forces are "Australian...." rather than "Australia....".

Elayine, do you know where he served (base or ship) during WW2? We could do a WW2 category for him.

From 1940-1954 he was on the HMAS Kuttabul and when he retired he was at HMAS Watson (1975) and he was a Lieutenant Commander at that point.

This is all I know at this point

I've added a WW2 category for HMAS Kuttabul to his profile.

Thank you - your help is much appreciated

I've noted that 'nationality' and 'branch' both work with any combination of words on the Sticker. The start and end year also work with DD/MMM/YYYY in each, if you wish to be more specific.

Elayine, I notice you have the ANZAC Sticker on Maurice's profile. RAN personnel were never ANZACs. That is a term that only applies to some (far from all) Army personnel. Many people confuse the annual Anzac Day commemoration of all service people with those soldiers who were ANZACs.

Thanks Kenneth - I didn't think about the ANZACs with Maurice -- I'll remove that one.
