I am 73 years old and have been doing genealogy since age 12. I have 68,993 people on my genealogy. I don't know how to break it down. Is there any instruction of that somewhere

See Help:Splitting a GEDCOM. This covers some of the more popular programs/sites. If you are using another program to host your tree, more information will be needed so we can help out.

Great Question Len When I saw the size of your tree, one of those giant redwoods (sequoia) came to mind.

Len, as others have said, you need to load your tree into a program that will let you produce small gedcom files.

If your intent is to upload it to WT, you should do a very small upload to get familiar with the process and to determine if your data is complete enough. If your source is Ancestry, likely not. (The shared links will be missing)

Due to the work on WT that is required, don't upload more than a 100 people at a time and try to keep on one branch of your tree so relationships can be maintained.

Rootsmagic has a free basic version, I've used that to break a large tree into branches for Gedcom upload.

If your tree is on Ancestry you can add each person individually using Sourcer or Wikitree-X, that transfers the facts for a person to Wikitree. I've gone back to that method, it's quicker as there is no need to check all the proposed matches before you add people.

Sources can be transferred with Sourcer.
