G2G: Trusted list.

Question

I've been trying to add my father's email to his profile Huff-6797 trusted list so he can take over and add his DNA. Everytime I try and enter his email it sends me to the "add a new person page". Why is it so hard to do?

Firstly - please edit your question and remove the email.

Secondly - you don't add his email to the Trusted List.  You need to edit the profile and add the email to the field below death locstion field.  You should see "When you add/replace an email address for a living family member they will be invited to join. Email addresses aren't used for spam." immediately beneath it.

Hi Derek.  If I'm interpreting you correctly, I think what you want to do is go to your father's profile, open the edit window, make sure the 'Still Living' selection is checked under Death Date, and then add his e-mail address in the very last field in the window.  That causes an invitation to join WikiTree to be sent to his e-mail address, and then he can follow the prompts to create his own account.  Once he does that, he will automatically become manager of his own profile, and he can add his DNA data.  And after he has his own account, you can add each other to whatever trusted lists you wish.
