G2G: Is John Colet notable? If so, in what sub-category?

John Colet was the Dean of St Pauls Cathedral and a noted theologian and Renaissance scholar. Also, pals with Erasmus and Thomas More. He is in Dictionary of National Biography and often comes up in books about the English Renaissance and Reformation. So, where to put him, and who puts the Notables tags on people?

He certainly does qualify as notable.  In addition to the DoB entry you mention, he has a Wikipedia page (although the dates may differ slightly).

The {{Notables Sticker}} and appropriate categories can be added by anyone certified to do so.  I cannot, as I am not pre-1500 certified.

Thanks Melanie, I've added the tag.

He could also have one of the images on Wikimedia Commons for a profile picture - I rather like the Henry Holland portrait found here.

Also, regards categories — I usually find it helpful to scroll down the Wikipedia page and look at their categories, then see if we have equivalent ones.  "Deans of St Paul's" (with or without the apostrophe) might be one, "biblical scholars" might be another.  (I just paste part of what I'm looking for into the category picker, and see what pops!)
