I heard that we could create a 2nd watchlist. How? And how would I put it on the MyMenu?

Does this help?

It's not connected to the 'My Menu'.

It's a start, but will you actually be notified of changes, or do you have to click each profile and then look to see if there are any changes? It's not clear from the Browser Extension documentation what a "second "watchlist" does for you.
It shows when the latest changes were made to each of the profiles you want to watch.  You can order the list by this 'recent change' date, so if you look at the top of the list, you can easily see which profiles have been updated recently.  There's also a link for each profile that takes you to the changes page.

The point of the Extra Watchlist is to let you keep an eye on profiles and/or space pages which you are not on the the trusted list for.
Ah! I see. I was looking for something to do with changes or comments in the API, but you are looking at the "Touched" timestamp on each profile. Very simple and effective!

I'd like to know of updates to any of my ancestors, which would be pretty near impossible with my Watch List, and it looks like it could be done with a single call to the API (unless there is a depth limit in the API). Sweet!

Are there any plans for being able to watch an entire chain of ancestors or descendents?

I find G2G postings for years looking for a way to follow profiles without going through the Trusted List process. Now that I better understand the extra watchlist, I can see that the solution to the problem is at hand, especially if there were the ability to select key profiles and their ancestors or descendants.

Let's get the word out! I think the extra watchlist can greatly enhance collaboration if adopted widely enough!
Randy: I'm glad you think this is useful.  Get the word out, by all means.

As for keeping track of ancestors.  Maybe you want this page?

Thanks for the tip. I was initially embarrassed that I didn't know about this. But it's under My Wikitree/Family Activity Feed" but the family activity feed is already on my Nav Home Page, and gives the appearance of being broken because it misses so much activity that I've been involved in (because it only shows activity from the silly Watchlist, it turns out).

Note to others reading this: I also tested, and confirmed that if I replace my id in the url (after who=) with someone else's, such as my wife, I can see their ancestor activity, too.

Sometime, when I get a little free time, I could imagine putting together an app that combines my watchlist feed, my ancestor feed, and my wife's ancestor feed, dedups them and displays it as a single, unitary feed. Now that would be pretty close to what I was thinking of when I first got involved in this G2G topic. Do you think that would be a good addition to the Browser Extension?

I guess you'd need to get the HTML of each of the feed pages, parse them, sort them and then filter out the duplicates.  That's possible.

I have another idea though.  Have you seen the RSS feed maker?  You could make the three feed URLs and put them in an RSS extension to get all the updates as they come in. I like Feedbro.  You can also use the one in Discord if you're on Discord.

Does this "Extra Watchlist" still exist?  I see it in my Global preferences, but I cannot find the list to view it, add or delete from it.  I do not see a + symbol or any binoculars.  How do I get to this "Extra Watchlist"?
