I have a number of family photo's I've posted and linked to all the people in the photo, is there a way to highlight the person who is linked when you are on their profile page?

I recategorized this for "Tech" and added the "improvements" tag because it seems like a worthwhile suggestion for enhancing WikiTree.

Thank you.

Long ago (2017) there was a plan to allow tagging of people in photos, but by November 2022 it had been either abandoned or indefinitely deferred. See this old discussion.

Hi Chris,

We discussed this while the tech team was at RootsTech earlier this month.

This, along with a few other image improvements, are on our list of things to do this year.

I'm presuming you are wanting something like the Tag option in Facebook, where a pointer and/or box will appear around the specific person. As far as I know, there's no "function" on WikiTree that does that. The only way I can think of doing it would be to actually edit the photo, and have one copy per person with different people highlighted. The other option could be to indicate in the description which one he/she is (second row, fourth from the left), or you could do a large picture and a zoomed in picture, where you select just him/her and a few around them for reference, and make it clear that the one in the center of the zoomed in photo is him/her.

Thank you, that's exactly what I wanted to do.  I've done the naming of the people in the picture.  So that looks like it's the best I can do.  In Gramps on my computer, I can draw a square around the picture, and it will only show that part in the particular profile.

There is one Browse Extension that does it, WikiTree Turbo and the thread about it, but I believe it only works for people that have it installed. It would be better to have that as natively in WikiTree

See an earlier thread on this subject https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/566673/face-tagging-individuals-in-photos

Thank you.  Will the tagging only show up for people who have the extension?
