G2G: Carker Haskins of New Jersey Mystery

I have added Abigail Haskins Jackson as a daughter of Sarah Carker. On page 240 of the OpDyck Genealogy, she is said to have shared the same mother as the second wife of John Updike the tailor of Loudoun County, Virginia. I don't know if it will help us get any closer to the truth or not, but apparently the family originated in Burlington New Jersey.

Note: I very nearly added unicorn to the tags because this family seems to be composed of mythical creatures.

Earlier in Daniel Updike's memorial (The Op Dyck Genealogy, p. 239) he says: "I have always thought that the name of his second wife was Sarah Brown, but my sister thinks it was Sarah Carker. (Her mother was married to both a Brown and a Carker and hence the confusion.) Her parents lived in Pennsylvania."

So you might not be looking for a Sarah Brown or a Sarah Carker...

I did find one Carker entry in NJ Colonial Conveyances 1660-1780 (https://www.westjerseyhistory.org/docs/): 8/24/1721, from Samuel Fisher et ux to one William Carker, Vol. A-K: 127, Burlington (City), Burlington [County].

Good luck.
