G2G: How to cancel a person from the family tree who have been introduced by mistake at the wrong place in the tree?

I introduced a person in the wrong place in the family tree and I would like to replace her in the good placement in the tree. How can I do that?  The simplest way would be to just cancel the wrong profile. I tried to merge with the same person in the good position in the tree but the profile in the correct place is posterior to the one in the wrong place and the merge is only possible in the wrong direction (the most ancient profile which happen to be wrong.

At Wikitree each profile is a unique person. If this person exists, you should connect her to the correct other people in a correct way.

Only merge if the person is the same as one that already has a profile.

You did not include the profile ID under question in your question, so we have no way to check what/how.

When you are in Edit mode on a profile parents, children, and spouses are listed at the right.  Under each section is an option to add/remove/replace an individual.  You can simply click on that and then choose "Remove."  If you know where the person belongs you can follow a similar process to connect them to the correct family.

Welcome to WikiTree!

If you have two profiles for the same person, one in the wrong place and one in the correct place, the preferred solution is to merge the two profiles. Even if the lower-numbered profile is in the wrong place, you can then correct the parental and spousal relationships to put it into the correct place in the tree.
