G2G: How do i get an Andersonville Soldier recognized?

Question

Wishing for help in recognizing an Andersonville soldier who died there in 1864. Verified by George Washington Schuyler himself who was his half cousin.— GW Schuyler who wrote “Colonial New York”  —Alexander is on page 310 the second volume. I added him but don’t know how to give stickers. His brother Henry TB Schuyler I also added. He died in Grant’s Virginia campaign. I have a 3x great grandfather who died at Shiloh, Henry Christian Hampshire and a great great grandfather who made it through all four years of the War. I would love help adding stickers but this old lady has tried and failed before. Asking for help because I’m kind of discouraged. Thank you one and all.

I added his unit roster from the NY Military Museum site.  His record is there, but there doesn't seem to be a record for his brother.

Thanks Mark. GW Schuyler says he’s “among the unrecorded dead having died in battle.” I have been checking censuses and have found a number of Henry’s. I always appreciate your input and kindness. Natalie was great and Arora gave gave excellent instructions.

Please don't get discouraged.  I found the easiest way to find the appropriate stickers, when I didn't know how, was just to do a google search like..

I've added  some catagories,  & pow sticker- civil war, for Alexander Schuyler. just click edit on his page to see how to do these things, then go pack to his profile, scroll to bottom to see how the catagories appear at the bottom of the page

You are a marvel, Arora and I am very appreciative of your encouragement and directions. It seems so important for us to recognize these men who fought for our country and DIED for it.

I really think we should honor the wives as well that we’re left to fend for themselves with their children. Like my 3x great grandmother she waited years and filled out forms every year to get a very small pension after her husband died at Shiloh.
