Richard Sheldon (Scheladon) was supposedly born in 1385 in Monyash, England. It has been posited that he was the son of Ralph Sheldon. Is there any evidence to support this partent?

According to a 1926 article in NEHGR he is the earliest generation. https://hdl.handle.net/2027/mdp.39015039521730?urlappend=%3Bseq=409%3Bownerid=9007199255461275-415 The article documents some earlier Sheldons, including a Ralph a century earlier, but cannot connect them.

Perhaps there is more recent research.
