how to find out if someone died in a Property/House?
in The Tree House by James Parker G2G Rookie (190 points)
If a house is more than 100 years old it's very possible that someone died there since most people died at home until well into the 20th century (and people still die at home, although not as often)

If you are asking about a specific person, look for a death certificate or obituary

Google the address and see what comes up
When I sold my last house one of the required disclosures (in California) was whether anyone died in the house. Of course, you only are required to disclose what you know.
It was required to disclose apparitions at one point but, I think that has been removed. I truly believe our last house was shared with an apparition we named Zeke. My dad died here in my front room after a long bout with cancer. That is why buyer/seller communication is heavily discouraged by the buyer/seller agents.

In Texas, a seller has no duty to disclose a death from natural causes, suicide, or an accident unrelated to the property's condition (Texas Property Code 5008[c]).

They do have to disclose murders that occurred in the house (if they are aware of it); and any accidental death caused by the property even if repairs were made.

There is no law requiring that ghosts or entities be disclosed.
