G2G: How to link within a page or profile

I've seen this same question asked on Discord channels as well: how do you link two items (profile links or sources) on the same page?

Example 1:

I have a page detailing multiple enslaved people, and some of those same people may be mentioned several times.  Before creating the profiles for each of the enslaved, I'd like to link them together to prevent duplicates.

Example 2:

In a long bio, there may be multiple references to the same source, perhaps different pages, etc.  I know there's a way to cite without repeating the same source multiple times...(?)

Thanks in advance for your help!  The page linked is one example of where I'd like to use these.

This help page describes how to cite the same source in multiple places on the same page. If you're citing different pages from that source at different places on the space page, I'd create different citations that include the page number, but you could do an abbreviated form after the first one (i.e., in the first citation of a will, you might give a full citation including county and state, volume number, pages, name of testator, the date of the will, a link, etc.; in the later citations, you could just put something like "John Smith will, page 413, [link]").

I'm not quite sure what you're wanting to do with your first example. After you've created a profile, you can link to it using [[Wiki-ID|Display Name]]. Within that space page, you might just need to put a note next to the name - something like "same person as #3 in list from Philip Alston's 1820 will". If you don't have a profile with a Wikitree ID yet, there's not any way to link to a person.

Thank you, I knew there had to be a help page, although I was so sure I had seen profiles which were linked on one page...or perhaps I'm thinking of something more like an index...

You're welcome! I suppose it's possible there's a way to do those links that I'm not aware of, but as far as I know, any links to people use Wikitree ID's, so you have to have a profile for the person first.

There were some suggestions on Discord (none of which appeared to work), but if one turns out to be the trick, I'll come back and share it!
