William Drury of Besthorpe, according to Muskett's visitations, stems from the Hawkstead Drury's--check the previous page in Muskett's book. There is an error--Hawstead William married Margaret BRIGGS. Besthorpe William married Margaret BRIDGES. But her fathers/home are the same. William is the son of Roger Drury and brother to Robert Drury, the Speaker of the House of Commons. Robert was older than William and died in 1535. William was living in 1491. William inherited Besthorpe from his mother, Felice Denston.
