I am very excited to see the Northern Ireland Project starting. I am working with others on the Dewart/Duart/Duarte and many other variations of the name. My Great Grandfather was Robert Dewart c1842/3 who married Barbara Haugh in Sunderland UK 1869, but he was from Hillsborough county Down as were his parents Thomas and Agnes Dewart. I am unable to join your project as I am seeing a Surgeon about my hands and am unable to do much at present but I already have more information than I have entered in my tree. I am collaborating with the Duart/ Dewart person who is the Dewart One Name Study at the Guild of One Name Studies and also with a gentleman from the US who is also researching Dewart of County Down.

Aside from my Dewarts I am also working on Meynell of Sunderland Durham UK, Piper of Suffolk, Quinn of Enniscorthy.

I have DNA tested on 23andme and FTDNA.  I have DNA matches with Dewart in Sydney Australia, Sunderland and Southern England. I have about 1500 people and well over a 100 surname groups.
